Fusion Teacher Training is dedicated to developing the very best fitness teacher training programs. Our passion is to share our years of experience to help every student become the best instructor they can be. There are many training programs available, and most of them offer quality information. But more important than any program is the instructor who teaches it. Jennifer Gianni and Casey Marie Herdt have decades of experience in the mind/body field, and they employ a teaching style that turns complicated material into digestible information. Having them teach a course at your studio is an enriching opportunity, and we hope it is one that you will be able to experience for yourself. Please see more about our instructors here. We also offer continuing mentoring and support even after the course is over with our online hub for Pilates Professionals at FusionPilatesEDU.com. We can bring almost any course on this website to your studio if you feel there would be interest. Review the information below and in each section of the website. When you help women through pregnancy with great health, deliver with less pain, and regain a pre-pregnant body after birth, you will build strong and meaningful relationships, and clients will continue with your studio long-term. The Anatomy in Clay (AIC) system was developed by Jon Zahourek in 1989 with the goal of making anatomy fun, and incorporating it into peoples’ lives from elementary school to old age. Jon is happy to say that the human skeleton model, the Maniken®, has found its way into more than 4,000 schools nationwide. * We use special equipment for this workshop, so there may be shipping cost considerations. The SmartCore integrates the most updated curriculum of the unparalleled Core Intelligence course with the comprehensive SmartCore, a professional SmartSpine™ training. This skill specific learning experience is bridging the gap between manual therapy, fascial work, and movement education. How to Retain or Regain Fascial Tensioning Put your foundational Pilates skills and biomechanics knowledge to work to learn simple and effective strategies to prevent and heal Diastasis and dysfunctions that go along with the unraveling of our connective tissue. Learn creative and cutting edge sequences for healing and advancing the DRA client and strategies on how to best work in conjunction with doctors and physical therapist. By using the mat and small props and the Pilates apparatus , in combination with the sling system, we will explore how to work smart and creatively to balance the myofascial system. In all populations, speaking to our connective tissue skeleton and learning to connect and balance it is of the upmost importance. Great emphasis will be put on balnced tension, lengthening and lubrication of the fascial web. As any good teacher knows, the intent of the Pilates repertoire is not to get to the most advanced movement form quickly, but to truly embody every single phase of the exercise with ease, grace, and agility. This can only occur when time and effort has been placed in priming the body for movement, and focus is continually placed on the skills behind the work.Stones BalanceRelease work is the first step in helping your clients into successful core training within the Pilates repertoire. In this workshop you will learn how and why various tightness in the body directly lead to compensatory patterning that leaves the body weak, unstable, and vulnerable to injury. You will learn to help your clients break through their typical fitness routine and discover the depth of their strength via increased joint range of motion and kinesthetic accuracy. The simple and easy techniques that you will learn will aid your clients into a more homeostatic baseline and create the step by step process for true change in all of your client’s bodies, ranging from your most advanced athlete, to your therapeutic clientele. This type of tiered approach is what takes your clients from simple shape making in the repertoire, to truly embodying every moment in the movement with complete command and precision. The transition into Menopause is a time of reevaluation, reorganization and reestablishing on emotional, spiritual, and physical fronts. It’s a time that provides a valuable opportunity to reconcile unfinished business with the soul, mind, and body. The fact that our emotional and physical selves are intertwined becomes crystal clear during Menopause and it is crucial for us as wellness practitioners to help our clients learn to create balance and peace within their bodies and minds with a conscious use of breath and movement. With our Pilates based movement we can: The SmartCore integrates the most updated curriculum of the unparalleled Core Intelligence course with the comprehensive SmartCore, a professional SmartSpine™ training. Pregnancy is a crucial moment in life where great emphasis must be put on balanced tension, lengthen and lubrication of the fascial web. In this 3 hour workshop, we will explore how to work smart and creatively to balance the neural-fascial web in our pre natal clients. We will employ the reformer and the reformer / half trap, in combination with the Sling , to create many floors for the the pregnant body to reach into for the ultimate tensegrity and support system. This workshop explores many techniques to unwind the pregnant pelvis from the feet and the legs and then from the shoulder girdle and torso to create an easier pregnancy, labor, delivery and recovery. Not sure how to balance the day to day changes in your pre and post natal clientele? Myofascial release and subtle body movement to remind the system of proper, balanced biomechanics is essential for the pre and post natal stage. Our specific technique of release and subtle Pilates based movement will create this awareness for your clients. Protocol on the Mat and Wall with small props and the Apparatus with small props will be taught. A detailed manual with release and movement sequences for the studio and at home for each stage will be provided. This workshop is suited for both the beginning and experienced teacher. For the newer instructor the course will help to reinforce the foundational concepts of the exercises and show new strategies on how to start with, and progress clients, on both the mat and reformer. For the experienced teacher, the course will give a new and fresh perspective on the traditional Pilates foundational principles and exercises. This will allow the more experienced teacher to see the movement with fresh eyes and a new creative perspective. New creative ways of cueing, directive touch, propping, and the sequencing of clients will be covered. Explore key concepts on how to keep the female body and system meeting the demands put on it from the tender teenage years, into pre and post natal recovery and then into menopause. What types of movement facilitate ease at each stage, pelvic health, breast health and how our emotions effect our bodies will all be focused on and explored. Humans are so focused on the destination of a movement the we forget that movement is an unfolding and gradual process. This results in movement that is linear, flat, rigid, and hinge-like. This workshop will teach instructors how to break down exercises so that any client can experience the essence of the movement. Basic anatomy and biomechanics will be taught to focus on what we want to visualize. Release work and propping techniques will be emphasized so that the body and brain are set up for success. We will also discuss transition points and how to link skill sets. Painting a picture with words can illuminate and animate the senses, calling the body and mind to attention, and into focus. When you cue with vision, image, and theme, you start to tell the body a story—and it responds. Creative cueing incites a journey rather than a destination, and helps to bring about a multi- dimensional, multi-faceted awareness. The body can tell you a client’s history if you know how to read it. By looking at the body more holistically and connecting the pieces of the story, we can help our clients move forward with ease and strength. By looking at bony alignment, facial integrity, and muscle chain of command, we can usher the body into balance and harmony. The pelvis is a complex structure uniting bone, musculature, connective tissue, and the ever-important viscera. In this workshop, we will delve into understanding this network as a whole: its importance in the body, how it works, and how to cue it into action. This in- depth exploration will give you a full understanding of how the pelvis can work in concert with the whole body. Bar none, the most important part of a session is the ongoing communication between client and teacher. Without a steady, balanced flow during the session, it is impossible for the client to progress or be supported on various levels. Creating a “call and response” will bring your work to a new level of effectiveness and fully assist your client in their movement education. Learn to see past the exercises and get to the true essence of the movement. Through up-to-date anatomy, complex cueing, and a thorough understanding of body physics, you will be able to bring depth and meaning to your mat classes. Inspired mat work starts here. Cultivate a new understanding of why Pilates reformer work is so popular, and how we can make it even more effective. By looking beyond the traditional spring settings and set-ups, we will dive into a new way to move and communicate with this equipment. Infuse your work with current movement theory and in-depth cueing. Balanced Body is the world’s largest and most respected provider of Pilates education.
